Rachel Odem’s career in the beauty industry took flight when she became a commercial print model in 1998. She became the face of many well-known marketing campaigns with such companies as Curves, AT&T and Alltell Wireless. Over the next 10 years she furthered her experience in the industry and was employed by major companies such as MAC, Bobbi Brown, and IMAN cosmetics.
Driven by her family, her Christian faith and a personal mission to empower women, Rachel Odem launched a home-based, beauty events & consulting company, Rachel O. Beauty, in 2010.
Rachel Odem’s progressive portfolio includes her experience as a freelance Makeup Artist working with recognized talent agencies such as ELITE Models, Ford Talent Agency and numerous photographers with celebrity status. She has worked along side some of the best in the beauty industry including Sam Fine. Her work with Jai Williams, and Chante Moore on the 2011 Fashion Fair Ad Campaign was featured in publications around the globe. She has also been featured in Ebony, Essence Online, WCIU, The Style Network and Chicago Magazine. In 2010 she graduated from Dudley’s Beauty College with a license in Esthetics.
As a result of being a well sought after beauty expert, she answered the call of African American women by founding the Chicago Natural Beauty Meet-Up; a beauty community dedicated to women of color. In less than one year, this group has grown to over 800 members and has partnered with prestigious brands such as Avlon Kera Care, Organic Root Stimulator, Carol’s Daughter and Miss Jessie’s. Whether Rachel O. is coordinating a meetup, completing signature skin treatments with her loyal clientele or on a set as a Make-up Artist, her ultimate goal is to empower, inspire and celebrate women one by one.
